Write in the corner where you are

This was me, today.

When I think of writing, This is the kind of idyllic spot that comes to mind.

closer view,
I penned this while sitting where my little green purse is laying on these rocks.

(Even my blog name hopes to bring  up this type of imagery)
Maple trees in Spring time South Carolina.

Close up of maple leaves in fall.

But realistically, most of my writing happens more often in a place like this

(This is my little writing corner .)

or this

(okay, I have to clean it off before I sit to write at my kitchen table)

or this

(We eat at the other end of the table, Sewing, writing, and miscellaneous crafting as well as  homeschool planning and clutter happen at this end)

I want my house to look like this........

(well not exactly like this, but neat and sweet like this)

But this is a more realistic view.

This was after several hours of play, my two shortshots, and two of my grandbabies.
Yes, four kids are in this photo, one is not visible, she's sitting on her Aunt Sgirl's lap.

My point is, where ever you are, enjoy your life and make the most of TODAY!

If you can do better, keep striving towards it, but don't allow the distance from where you want to be and where you are to, hold you down.

Serve the Lord with Gladness.....Psalm 100:2

Whatsoever you do, so it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.   Colossians 3;23.

(PS, read that title  to the tune of that song from days gone by "Brighten the corner where you are")

40 bags - My day 1

I was planning to catch up with kitchen work and
work in my hall way and living room
at de (or is it un )cluttering.

However, my Jman decided he was comfortable going on
an outing with his sister, Sgirl, a friend, and another  mom
Without ME!!!!

This is a major development for my 6 year old....
so my plans changed as I had about 3 hours without any kids.

My dear husband asked if I was going to take a long soak in the tub.

Honestly, that thought never crossed my mind.  I did consider running
on a shopping errand but
I opted to tackle their kid bedroom.

It's not completely finished, (I love that silly girl in the pic.)

but I removed 1 bag of trash, and 1 bag of toys.
Yes, toys!  ( we have too many still, - the island in the middle of the beds
includes a bin of Legos, a bin of dolls and a box of miscellaneous toys that
needs to be put away.- yes, I know we still have too many-
BUT I was able to part with about 6 dolls)

This is again a major development for .......ME, the messy mom.

(Not sure why I cannot part with dolls, but I find it difficult)
The dolls they got rid of on their own... THEY decided to part with them.

Count for today, 2 bags and growing satisfaction.

40 bags in 40 days challenge

These are the musings of a messy mom.

As I look around my house, I feel suffocated and stressed.
I look at the STUFF and I'm overwhelmed.

I'm re-evaluating things.  If I've been hanging on to that stuff, to do that project
for so long that I no longer remember what the project was.... YES.... it's time to take
action.

So, I found this idea on Facebook ,

 I clicked this link
http://www.whitehouseblackshutters.com/40-bags-in-40-days-2015/

to read more and I'm in.  Thank you   Ann Marie Heasley!

The goal is to unclutter and fill bags or boxes of stuff and get rid of it.

I'm starting tomorrow.  ( Okay so technically I'm starting 2 days late- oh, if you are just starting,
there are 2 different schedule printables- one is dated and one isn't)

(I found the idea late Wednesday, and Thursday was booked so Friday it is)

I'll post pictures before and after....
if I can figure that out.

Care to join me?
Anyone else doing this and blogging about it?

Until next time......

Blessings

Life is a journey

I'm on a journey and I'm inviting you to come with me.
I've been married for 29 years, I have 6 kids and I am a messy mom.
I wasn't always messy.  Before the kids came, my house was fairly neat.
But that was then and then started 26 years ago.

I love my kids and as life got busy, somehow along the way things started to slip.

Until I'm where we are today.  I'm not proud of my messiness- but I'm being honest about it.
And I figure if I'm having issues with keeping it all together, maybe you are too.  Maybe along the
way as I make discoveries, something I learn will help you too.
So join me as I journey on the quest toward a cleaner more livable house.
